Mighty Gunvolt Burst is an incredible game and one of the best overall values for the Switch. Today, Ekoro joins the roster as a DLC character with her own play style. She will normally cost $2, but can be yours free for the first two weeks. She was with Beck and Gunvolt in the original Mighty Gunvolt, and plays much the same as she did there. Now, she can bring up a shield to protect herself from harm for as long as her MP holds out. Much like with Blaster Master Zero, this makes her a near-game breaker – but also gives you an easy mode of sorts.
However, she’s a glass cannon and does take more damage – so you still need to be skillful at evading to avoid taking too much damage. You also need to use Burst combos to fill the MP gauge up – so you can’t just run and gun through the game without thinking ahead. She’s a lot of fun to use and mixes things up a bit. More DLC characters are set to come out, which will probably be characters from Mighty No. 9. Beck with the sword capability would be nice, as would Ray.
