Without going into too much detail, there are confirmed reports that Nintendo has broken sales records for all previous console releases in Nintendo history. In a Tweet from Nick Wingfield of The New York Times, he breaks down details directly from an interview with Reggie Fils-Aime, who is the Nintendo of America President.
2. Fri-Sat sales for Nintendo Switch exceeded first 2-day sales in Americas for any system in Nintendo history. Next biggest was Wii.

In addition to console sales, it is also noted that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is the best selling game launch title Nintendo has ever had.
